Homemade Spa Treatments

Fun, easy, cheap homemade spa treatments that are all natural!

For awhile I was making and selling (and giving as gifts!) some natural bath and body care products. I still have requests for some popular products. This was such an enjoyable part of my herbal learning experience.
Many people enjoy the health and radiance they feel after using herbs and natural ingredients in body care products. Others like to create things for themselves or enjoy saving money. And then some simply enjoy not having an impact on the environment.

Whatever interest you may have in making homemade spa treatments be assured that these products are using ingredients that are not cancer causing or reproductive altering. These ingredients are healing and therapeutic to the skin going down deep with all natural goodness!

To really know what your cosmetics and skin care products contain check out Skin Deep Cosmetics Database and then be sure to come back here to find out how to make your own!

Something that has really caused me to want to make my own baby skin care products is the findings of scientists and researchers on the harmful ingredients in baby lotions and shampoos. Causing reproductive problems and cancer is not what I want for my grandchildren!

Natural Body Care
Ingredients

Beeswax
Castile Soap
Cocoa Butter
Shea Butter
Coconut Oil
Sea Salts
Epsom Salts
Carrier Oils
Essential Oils
Herbs

The ingredients are easy to come by from a grocery store, from your herbal garden, from a health food store, or special ordered from a good supplier.

One thing to note about natural body care products is that they generally do not have the shelf life that store bought products do. These recipes do not contain harmful preservatives.

To extend the shelf life I usually advice people to store in the fridge if possible and use clean hands or a popsicle stick to remove product from the container.

Storing these products in a warm humid bathroom will encourage bacterial or fungal growth and cause it to deteriorate fast.

However, you are going to like these products so much that you'll have used it up long before it becomes contaminated! These also make wonderful gifts.
