Ingredients

1 oz witch hazel or vodka

distilled water

20 drops Purification Essential Oil

20 drops Lavender Essential Oil

4-oz spray bottle

Instructions

Use a funnel to add essential oils to the spray bottle

Add witch hazel. Swirl the mixture to combine

Top with distilled water

Spray 4-5 times onto each dryer ball and place them in the dryer

How to Use Dryer Balls

Adjust the number of dryer balls depending on load size. Use 3-4 for a medium to large load, and 5-6 for an oversized load. First, spray dryer balls with your favorite scent and place them in the dryer. Add clothes and run a normal drying cycle. 

As an alternative to a spray, you can add 4-5 drops of essential oil directly to each dryer ball. If you use this method, let essential oils sit for 10-15 minutes to avoid the possibility of oil stains on clothes.

Well here it is anther new year, do you make resolutions? I do NOT, I quit doing that years ago really.

I start them and then I forget or get too busy with life. Like so many people do. So instead of making resolutions I am setting goals, goals are so much more positive and progressive, you can't fail if you set goals and try a little at least. Everyday is going to be a day I become stronger, more positive, more accomplished, even if the only thing I do is clean one room, make one cup of coffee and try to be the best I can be for that day. Right? Yes

Please take a few moments to set new goals, or make resolutions if you prefer. Just be sure to do things, read, clean, cook, talk to someone, learn something new, try something new something old, something different, a new twist on an old craft, a recipe you've been meaning to make, wanting to try, would like to improve. Clean something, there is always something that needs cleaning, dusting, sweeping, washing, I know it never ends, but don't let things overwhelm you. One step at a time, one new day. New beginnings, old habits improved, new things learned.

That is why I like crafting so much, new projects come to mind, old things pop up not yet completed, inspiring to complete, imagination working to improve, and begin working on.

\May your year be better than the last, especially this past much better than ever. May you grow, have some fun, remember the old times, relive something you really enjoyed,. see loved ones., make new friends, join a new group perhaps. Start things, complete things, stay busy as busy as your life will let you, but also stop and take a breath often. Meditate, relax, laugh, by all means live life.

Amazon Sidewalk

Amazon Sidewalk is the new Amazon thing which is basically another way of saying they will steal small bits of your internet bandwidth to share with others.

Amazon will also automatically enroll you in this program

It will be for any Amazon devices, Echo Dots, etc. Even Ring security devices!

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

What Amazon Sidewalk will do is automatically share your internet connection with your neighbors and vice versa. All without sharing passwords.


Here is a little snippet of what Amazon entails this new program to do:

“Amazon Sidewalk is a shared network that helps devices like Amazon Echo devices, Ring Security Cams, outdoor lights, motion sensors, and Tile trackers work better at home and beyond the front door. When enabled, Sidewalk can unlock unique benefits for your device, support other Sidewalk devices in your community, and even locate pets or lost items.

Amazon Sidewalk creates a low-bandwidth network with the help of Sidewalk Bridge devices including select Echo and Ring devices. These Bridge devices share a small portion of your internet bandwidth which is pooled together to provide these services to you and your neighbors. And when more neighbors participate, the network becomes even stronger.”

Amazon also stated that the Sidewalk feature will have a lot of layers of privacy and security to protect your personal information, but will allow users the option to turn off Sidewalk if they don’t want to participate.

This program began on June 8, 2021. Thankfully, we have the option to opt out. Here’s how.

HOW TO OPT-OUT

Open the Alexa app.
Open More and select Settings.
Select Account Settings.
Select Amazon Sidewalk.
Turn Amazon Sidewalk On or Off for your account.

You should do this right away as they have already enabled it on our apps and we had to disable this because they do not have the right to do this without our consent, and by this I mean they are very lax about explaining that they were going to do this, so that most of us didn't even notice.

How to Clean Stains out of Fabrics

 A while ago I was asked to do some alterations on a wedding dress, when I got the dress it was badly stained. I wasn't asked to clean it, but I knew I had to help. So I did the alterations and when I completed my work I decided to give the dress a good cleaning as I knew taking it to the cleaners was not only going to be expensive but the price would be too high.

So I got out my tub of oxi clean, I would be without it. No this is NOT A COMMERCIAL for the product but I am a believer on how good this stuff works. You can buy it at any grocery store or other stores such as Lowe's Home Depot, even Walmart if you must. 

Next I took the dress into the bathroom to the tub, got the water very HOT

Filled the tube enough to submerge the dress.

Mixed my Oxi Clean into the tub.

I placed the dress into the tub of very HOT water

and proceeded to rub the stains

Then I let it soak 30 minutes

more gentle rubbing on stains

turned the dress and soaked an hour.

Again I rubbed the stains and could see much improvement

This is an answer to many problems. rubbing soaking in Oxi Clean and soaking more.

In as hot of water as possible.

From the first look at this it seems impossible to get clean

one tiny spot on the very bottom

The train was badly stained underneath too

The veil had seen better days as well

but saving an heirloom is important

Just needed a good steam pressing before the wedding here.

This dress turned out to be absolutely beautiful

restored to perfection

the customer was amazed and very surprised

also she was speechless and very appreciative to my extra work and success at cleaning this beautiful dress for her wedding day.

Using OXI CLEAN to clean fabrics is very beneficial and money saving not to mention how it can bring heirloom pieces back to life and restoration.

**It is advised to test on a piece of the fabric before doing the entire garment

to both see if hot water is safe and this cleaner**

I recently got this amazing Ninja Kitchen System with AutoIQ and I am really having fun making new recipes and testing it out.
This machine has the power to chop, dice, puree, blend, mix, and so much more. It even turns ice into snow for snow cones.
This is really a kitchen helper all in one. It truly is more powerful than other kitchen appliances. I got rid of my blender, my food processor and my drink mixer and now just use this, takes up less room. I keep the pieces in my island for storage and leave the base out. Makes the counter space bigger and cleaner.

I have made smoothies with the drink blender
Green Strawberry Smoothie
You can mix the ingredients in order and enjoy

3-4 strawberries
1/2 banana
1/4 cup kale
1/4 cup spinach
1/2 scoop protein powder
1 cup milk your choice or water
1 cup ice
you can add other fruits or veggies how you like.

I have made cole slaw with the food processor
Celery Seed Slaw

3 pounds medium head cabbage, coarsely shredded
1/2 cup finely shredded carrot
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup sugar
1 cup white vinegar
3 tsp salt
1 tsp celery seed

In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrot, and green pepper. Set aside. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, vinegar, salt, and celery seed. Bring to a boil. Pour over the cabbage mixture. Toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for four hours or overnight. Serve with a slotted spoon. Yield: 12-16 servings

Hint- I made this once with the precut/shredded cabbage as I thought it was quicker. I found that the cole slaw was a bit tough even sitting overnight. The next time I made it, I shredded my own cabbage- much better! The finer the shred, the better I felt. And it is much better if it sits overnight. Enjoy!

I have made drinks with the blender
Frozen Mojito
What you’ll need:
2 Limes, Juiced
10-12 Mint Leaves
2 oz. Simple Syrup*
6 oz. White Rum
2 Cups Ice cubes

How to make it:
Add all ingredients into the 48 oz. pitcher and use
long pulses until well blended. Serve in 2 tall
rocks glasses, garnish with mint.
*Combine 4 Tbsp Sugar and 4 Tbsp Water in saucepan
on warm stove until sugar dissolves.

I have made cookies with the food processor
Chocolate chip cookies in ninja food processor
use the dough hook

what you need:
1` tsp vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup br sugar
2 sticks butter
2 eggs

mix this on low blend to cream
next add dry ingredients:
1 tsp b soda
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 cups flour

mix this on pulse a few times
then low till mixed then add
1-2 cups chocolate chips
again mix on low

bake cookies
350 for 9-12 minutes

I have made snow cones with the blender
Snow Cone
What you’ll need:
3/4 Cup White Sugar
3/4 Cup Water
1 Pkg Unsweetened Fruit Flavor Drink Mix (13 oz. each)
4-5 Cups Ice
How to make it:
Make basic simple syrup by combining sugar
and water in a saucepan and bringing to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in flavored drink mix of
your choice. Make Cherry, Grape, Orange, and Fruit
Punch by following the same recipe and changing
the powdered flavor. Place in resealable 12 oz.
squirt bottle. Note: can be stored in the refrigerator
for up to a month.
For Snow Cone, place 4-5 cups of ice cubes in
the 48 oz. pitcher and use long pulses until fine snow
is formed. Scoop into desired serving dish.
Pour on flavored syrup and serve.
Makes 4 Snow Cones

I spend several hours working on each design, putting layers together takes more time than your run of the mill heat transfers. I use many high grade vinyl and different types too.
