DIY Fall Pumpkin Trio

I am so ready for FALL YA'll

Getting started decorating with a Fall touch. I went to Dollar Tree and found these pumpkins in bright Halloween Orange, so I bought a few, brought them home and starting thinking.

I painted with left over chalk paint, you could also use acrylic but it seems harder to get it to stick so will take more coats to cover and be careful before they dry and are coated several coats they want to scratch easily and gave them a light sheen, stacked them with spanish moss between and to top them off, Hot glued the moss on between layers of pumpkins, easily stacked them up and placed them on a cute candle holder, you can glue it to the holder but I just used some tacky Loctite fun tak so I can reuse the candle holder I added a pumpkin stem saved and dried from last year. See it is a good thing to be a bit of a craft hoarder, the old stem had lifted right off an old pumpkin last fall so I thought Hmm why not dry this and save it I'm sure I'll find a use for it, and walla I sure did. Yes you can dry them out and save them. It looks so much more realistic than tree limbs. I love this. You can do colors you like to match your decor.

It's always good to keep things you never know what you're going to need #crafthoarder #ilovecrafting #neverthrowitaway

Have fun crafting!

1½ lb White Chocolate Candy Bark, coarsely chopped
1× 14 oz. can Sweetened Condensed Milk
¼ tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Microwave candy bark, sweetened condensed milk, and salt in a 2-qt microwave safe bowl on high for 3-4 minutes, stirring at 1 minute intervals. Stir until smooth. Stir in vanilla, candy corn and pecans. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Cool; cover and chill at least 2 hours or until set. Turn candy out onto cutting board and cut into squares. Scarecrow Taco Dip

Isn't this a cute idea for the Great Halloween/Samhain Festivities? Yeah I thought so too
Found it on http://www.holidaycottagepage.com/ so I am sharing it
This will be great for our Halloween Party this year. I can't wait, we work so hard on decorations and foods and costumes, it's one fantastic fun family and friends get together.
Ingredients
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons Old El Paso® taco seasoning mix (from 1-oz package)
½  cup Old El Paso® Thick 'n Chunky salsa
¼ cup sliced ripe olives
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
1 cup Old El Paso® refried beans (from 16-oz can)
1 cup chopped lettuce
2 cherry tomatoes
Triangular-shaped tortilla chips (about 3 inch)
Instructions
  1. 1 In small bowl, mix cream cheese and taco seasoning mix until smooth. Spread on 10-inch plate. Spoon salsa evenly over cream cheese mixture. Reserve 4 olive slices; sprinkle remaining olives over salsa. Reserve 1/4 cup cheese; sprinkle remaining cheese over olives. Spoon beans in center of plate; spread to 6-inch circle to resemble head of scarecrow. Sprinkle lettuce around beans.
  2. 2 Cut 1 tomato in half; place each half on scarecrow, cut side up, to resemble eyes. Add remaining tomato to resemble nose. Place 1 reserved olive slice on each “eye” to resemble pupil. Cut the remaining olive slices in half and arrange the pieces to resemble mouth.
  3. 3 Arrange tortilla chips to resemble a hat on the scarecrow’s head. Arrange the reserved cheese to come out from under the hat and at the bottom of the face to resemble straw. Serve dip with tortilla chips. Store dip in refrigerator.

First Day of Autumn September 22, 2013

"Lady Autumn, Queen of the Harvest,
I have seen You in the setting Sun,
with Your long auburn tresses
blowing in the cool air that surrounds You.
Your crown of golden leaves is jeweled
with amber, amethyst, and rubies.
Your long, flowing purple robe
stretches across the horizon.
In Your hands You hold the ripened fruits.
At Your feet the squirrels gather acorns.
Black crows perch on Your outstretched arms.
All around You the leaves are falling.
You sit upon Your throne and watch the dying fires
of the setting Sun shine forth its final colors in the sky.
The purple and orange lingers and glows
like burning embers.
Then all colors fade into the twilight.
Lady Autumn, You are here at last.
I thank You for Your rewards.
I have worked hard for these gifts.
Lady Autumn, now grant me peace and rest."
