Crockpot Cheesecake
Ingredients
3 8oz Packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
3 Eggs
3/4 Cup Sugar
6 Graham Crackers (full pieces), pulverized into crumbs
3 Tablespoons of Stick Butter, melted
Instructions
- Allow Cream Cheese to get to room temperature.
- Open cream cheese and place in large bowl.
- Add Sugar.
- Mix until sugar and cream cheese are well blended.
- Add the 3 eggs one at a time. After adding an egg, blend, then add the other etc.
- In a separate bowl, add graham cracker crumbs and melted butter.
- Mix well as this will form your crust.
- Choose a pan or small crock type cooking pan that will fit in the bottom of your crock-pot with room left on the side. You want to be able to pull the pan out without too much difficulty.
- Add the graham cracker crumbs mixture to the bottom of the pan.
- With a spoon, pat the graham crackers out til you have a smooth layer.
- Add the cream cheese mixture to the top of the graham crackers.
- Add 2 to 3 cups water to the bottom of the crock-pot. You need enough to last 2 hours but not too much that it will get in your pan.
- Place the cheesecake pan in the crock-pot and place the lid of the crock-pot on.
- Cook on high for 2 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes or until the center does not have a watery consistency when you stick a knife into it.
- The cheesecake will begin to crack on the sides.
- Let cool for 30m to 1h.
- Remove and let set in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Serve.

http://crockpotladies.com/recipe-categories/desserts/crockpot-cheesecake/The first picture is a picture of the crock type bowl that I used to make the cheesecake. Really a basic cooking bowl or cooking pan will work. The second picture is the crock bowl in the bottom of the crock-pot. I hope the contrast is enough. You can add a metal trivet if you want, but setting pan to crock-pot is just fine. The water would go in the space surrounding the crock type bowl. Sorry I tried putting the water in and taking a picture but it really didnt show well. I hope this gives a clearer picture of how this works
Fighting Summer Stains: Barbecue
How to fight summer BBQ stains
Quick: Name the messiest summer foods you can imagine. Did barbecue come to mind? Between their savory sauces and their often hand-held nature (drumsticks, ribs), grilled goodies can really do a number of your clothing.
Charcoal
If you get charcoal dust on your clothing, always get rid of the charcoal residue while the stain is still dry. Do this by brushing it off or, in a situation where a whole bag of charcoal has exploded on you, you might even try using a vacuum. Tre says the next line of defense is to make a paste with a powder detergent and a little bit of water and apply it to the stain (a powder detergent is always a better bet for a particulate stain, which is a stain made up of tiny particles like charcoal). Work the paste into the stain and then launder the garment using the warmest water the garment can handle according to the care label. Check to make sure the stain has disappeared before drying.
For light grease stains, you can follow the same method as you would for barbecue sauce. If you don’t have a pretreater handy, you can always use liquid detergent as a pretreatment instead.

Barbecue
Sauce
Unless you have an unusual barbecue sauce recipe that contains mayonnaise or another protein, the method for treating this type of stain is to remove the sauce residue and hit the stain with a laundry pretreater (let the product work on the stain for at least 10 minutes before laundering). When washing, opt for the warmest water the garment can take according to care label. If it doesn’t come out after one washing, do a second wash with some color-safe bleach. Don’t let the stain dry between these washings.

Tip: For heavy grease stains, the American Cleaning Institute suggests, placing the stain face
down on a stack of clean paper towels. Then, apply cleaning fluid to back of
stain (the paper towels should suck up the stain). Replace paper towels under
stain frequently. Let dry, rinse and then launder using hottest water safe for
fabric.
Elizabeth Karmel, executive chef at Hill Country
Barbecue, says she’s tried dozens of methods for treating stains over the years,
but most are just old wives’ tales. “The only thing that has helped me is
treating stains as soon as possible after they occur, using cold water and an
extra rinse cycle,” says Elizabeth. Her secret weapon for really bad stains is
Chef Revival Stain Remover, a prewash treatment
designed specifically for kitchen stains.
deep fried pickle
The deep fried pickle. Yes, that deliciously crunchy, pickled-y item that you either love or hate in a burger, can now be eaten with a fantastically hot, crunchy exterior. You’ll love them, honest.
Ingredients
for deep fried pickles
1 beaten egg
1 cup milk
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp chilli powder (if you want a spicier coating)
salt & pepper
3 1/2 cups plain flour (if you have cornflour, use half plain and half cornflour for a crunchier coating)
A jar of pickles – drain and cut pickles lengthwise or into circles, your preference
oil for deep frying
for blue cheese dip
1/4 cup blue cheese (crumbled)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
Splash of lemon juice
salt & pepper
Recipe
for deep fried pickles
1. sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt, pepper and paprika. (and chilli powder if you want a spicier coating)
2. In a separate bowl combine the milk and egg.
3. Drain the pickles and slice them lengthwise or into circles, depending on how you want them.
4. Heat the oil in a large pain till it reaches 350F/175C. If you don’t have a metal thermometer, you can check the oil is ready by sprinkling some flour into the oil. If it immediately starts to sizzle, it’s hot enough.
5. Dip the pickles into the milk mixture and then dredge in flour mixture; repeat this to make sure the pickle is fully coated.
6. Deep fry the coated pickles until pickles float to surface and are golden brown (it should be 5 minutes at the most). Remove and drain on a paper towel.
7. They’re ready to eat! Yum.
for blue cheese dip
1. Deep fried pickles are deliciously tangy and crispy, the perfect accompaniment? Blue cheese dip!
2. Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream and lemon juice together.
3. Crumble the blue cheese and mix it into the mayonnaise/sour cream mixture. You can use an electric mixer to make the dip completely smooth, but we prefer a few lumps of blue cheese to remain.
4. Serve with the hot deep fried pickles. Delicious.
